UPDATE: Man found dead on walking trail identified

UPDATE: RCMP say the man’s death is not believed to be suspicious. The BC Coroners Service has identified him as Melvin Davis Maygard, 56, from West Kelowna. Kelowna police and BC Corners Service continue to work on this investigation.

KELOWNA, B.C. – Kelowna RCMP have cordoned off a wooded area along Enterprise Way near Commerce Avenue following the discovery of a man’s body in nearby bushes.

Investigators are collecting and bagging items as they look for evidence of what may be a crime scene.

At least five RCMP officers have descended on the location, with one marked police vehicle and several unmarked police vehicles at the intersection.

The B.C. Coroner’s service and RCMP dog services member have also arrived on scene.
