TORONTO – A heavy band of showers and thunderstorms moved through Toronto Tuesday afternoon.
Environment Canda issued a special weather statement for the area shortly after 2 p.m. warning 15 to 20 millimetres of rain could fall in a short amount of time.

Drivers are urged to use caution as the intense rainfall could bring reduce visibility on roads across the region.
The Toronto Region Conservation Association (TRCA) warned the rain could lead to high-water levels and flooding in some areas of the GTA and cautioned people about going near water.
