Police say a southbound Mazda 3 left the highway, and when the 30 year old male driver tried to get back on the pavement, the car skidded and rolled several times before ending up in the ditch facing the opposite direction.

The 27 year old female passenger died at the scene.

Her name has not been released at the request of her family.

RCMP say speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash which closed the southbound lanes for several hours.
