WINNIPEG – A well-known Manitoba cottage-country hotel was destroyed by fire Friday.
The West Hawk Inn at West Hawk Lake was “fully involved” in fire, RCMP said Friday morning.
Smoke forced the evacuation of the West Hawk Campground, behind the hotel. One camper was treated for smoke inhalation but there were no other injuries, police say. The Inn, which includes a popular bar, was nothing but smouldering rubble by early Friday afternoon, along with an attached restaurant, the West Wok.
It’s not known what started the fire.
