WATCH: Canada Post building in Kelowna evacuated after white substance found in package

A Canada post delivery building in Kelowna’s north end had to be evacuated early Thursday morning after an employee found a package containing a granular white substance.

Seven of the employees who came in contact with the substance were isolated as a precaution. The RCMP were called to the scene, along with an ambulance and a hazmat team.

In the end, the package only contained cleaning materials posing no threat to employees, and people have returned to work.

Kelowna fire officials say it’s the third time they’ve attended the same building this year following reports of suspicious substances found in packages. All turned out to be false.
