WINNIPEG – A man who went missing Saturday while camping with friends in Nopiming Provincial Park was found Tuesday, RCMP say.
Christopher Cloutier, 24, was separated from his friends while on a camping trip and was trying to find a road so he could get home when he got lost, RCMP said Wednesday.
He was found just off Highway 314, near Maskwa and Donner lakes, southwest of Shoe Lake, where he’d been camping with three other men.
Cloutier had last been seen at about 3 p.m. Saturday, but he didn’t appear to have any injuries. He was taken to an area hospital as a precautionary measure, RCMP said.
When Cloutier was reported missing on Sunday, police were told his friends believed he had food and some clothing in a backpack.
Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship, Search and Rescue Manitoba, the Office of the Fire Commissioner, the Civil Air Search and Rescue Assoc. and RCMP all helped with the search.
