Students say Saskatchewan government fails tuition test

REGINA – The Canadian Federation of Students says tuition in Saskatchewan has gone up 11 per cent since the government lifted a freeze three years ago.

A federation spokesman says that includes another three per cent increase for students returning to university and college this fall.

Haanim Nur says average tuition in Saskatchewan is now more than $5,400 a year for undergraduate students and almost $3,300 for graduate students.

Nur says tuition increases are the largest barrier for students wanting to further their studies after high school.
