Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Okanagan

West Kelowna, June 2014

OKANAGAN — Be prepared for severe weather. That’s the message from Environment Canada, as meteorologists have issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Okanagan. The watch stretches from the south to north Okanagan, including Vernon, Kelowna, Penticton and the Boundary region.

Along with the potential for severe storms, Environment Canada says heavy rainfall, upwards of 15 mm per hour, may shower the region.
