Worker seriously injured at Lakeside Packers plant in Brooks

CALGARY- A worker was rushed to hospital with critical injuries, following an incident at the Lakeside Packers plant in Brooks.

A spokesperson from JBS Food Canada confirms the man was injured by hot water, while trying to fix a pipe in the building’s rendering area on Monday.

He was taken to hospital in Calgary, and his condition has since been upgraded to stable.

The company says the man has worked for them for more than 19 years.
