Each summer the city brings the animals in to keep the grass short at the local museum grounds.

Families were invited to join in the festivities as the city said goodbye to the creatures for the winter.

“The sheep program is one of the most popular attractions in Fort Saskatchewan.” said Diane Yanch Fort Saskatchewan Culture and Tourism Co-ordinator. “When we say goodbye to them for the rest of the winter, we parade them through downtown so the residents get the chance to say goodbye.”

The sheep spend the winter in Stony Plain.
