KELOWNA–For the last three decades, athletes have been coming to the Okanagan to compete in triathlons.
This weekend will mark the 32nd Apple Triathlon in Kelowna.
Organizers say nearly 12,00 people have signed up for the various races, from first timers to professionals.

Some athletes are attracted to the fact that there are two races in the Okanagan within a week, as Challenge Penticton, formerly the Ironman, is the very next weekend.
Organizers say running organized, popular triathlons year after year has given the region a reputation for being a triathlon destination.
