SYDNEY MINES, N.S. – A Nova Scotia man is facing multiple weapons-related charges following an incident in Cape Breton.
Police say officers responded to reports of a man with a firearm inside a residence on Johnston Crescent in Sydney Mines on Sunday.

A 49-year-old man eventually surrendered to police.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
He is due in court on Oct. 21 to face charges of possession of a dangerous weapon and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
