CALGARY – Police are investigating after a 25-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound in Motel Village on Sunday morning.
It happened around 5:30 a.m. near Crowchild Trail and 16th Avenue Northwest.
Police say another man with medical training called police and assisted the victim until EMS arrived. He was taken to Foothills Hospital in non-life threatening condition.
It’s still unclear whether the shooting happened in the area or somewhere else.
At this point Police say the victim isn’t being cooperative.
“Usually if there isn’t a third party witness to the incident, it’s all dependent on the victim’s cooperation,” said Sgt. Darren Bliss with Calgary Police.
“If they’re not willing to cooperate with police, it certainly hampers our investigation.”
There were no reports of gunshots in Calgary in the three hours leading up to the victim’s discovery.
Visitors at a nearby motel say they didn’t hear anything suspicious throughout the night or early Saturday morning.
