Drunk man caught driving stolen golf cart on Saskatchewan highway

LLOYDMINSTER, Sask. – A Saskatchewan man has been arrested after RCMP found him operating a stolen golf cart drunk on a highway last week.

On July 31, members of the public reported a man driving northbound on Highway 17 at night.

RCMP located a golf cart that had been stolen from the Sandy Beach area.

The 18-year-old driver was arrested at the scene for impaired driving.

While undergoing testing, Mounties say the Onion Lake First Nation man almost blew double the legal limit.

He is facing charges of impaired driving, driving over the legal limit and theft of a motor vehicle.

Onion Lake First Nation is approximately 280 kilometers northwest of Saskatoon.
