As politicians get ready to hit the campaign trail, one group is reminding that Manitobans just want to play fair.

The Manitoba education financing coalition handed out signs Mondays, launching the 2011 edition of Let’s play fair, a campaign to abolish education taxes from property tax bills.

Currently, one-third of education funding comes from property taxes.

The coalition is pushing the province to commit to an 80 per cent to 20 per cent formula with a goal to fund 100 per cent of education from general revenues and Manitoba Hydro reserves.
