The assets include print and electronic publications stretching from St-Simeon to Gaspe. The largest of these is the weekly Rimouski community paper L’Avantage votre journal, founded in 1996.

Avantage Consommateurs already had a partnership with Transcontinental to distribute advertising flyers contained in its Publisac to more than 91,000 area households. That distribution network now will be entirely owned by Transcontinental.

Transcontinental Media said local businesses will gain access to its integrated digital offering, which provides a full line of media and marketing solutions to improve the online visibility of small- and medium-sized businesses.
