Victoria police have come up with yet another creative tactic to target distracted drivers.
The officers often pose as construction workers or even bus passengers to keep an eye on drivers who use electronic devices while driving, but their newest strategy is offering them the best vantage point.
Officers are now using bucket trucks or cherry pickers to spot people who are on their cell phones while behind the wheel or doing anything else that might distract them.
Distracted driving is the third leading cause of fatal crashes in the province, killing an average of 91 people each year.
During this operation on Thursday, a total of 23 tickets were handed out: six for using an electronic device while driving.
