The discovery of a body in a northeast drainage pond this week is now a homicide investigation.
Late Friday night, police confirmed 18-year-old Colton Crowshoe was murdered; the teen’s remains were discovered Thursday in Abbeydale.
Crowshoe went missing three weeks ago after leaving his friend’s house.
On Thursday, a man who lives near the pond was walking in the area when he noticed something in the water.

Police pulled the body from the pond, and homicide investigators started searching the surrounding area.
On Friday, investigators confirmed the autopsy showed that Crowshoe was the victim of foul play, but did not release the cause of death.
Police say they will provide an update on the case Saturday morning.
Family and friends are planning to gather Sunday night for a candlelight vigil; they’re inviting everyone who knew Crowshoe or helped search for him to attend.
The vigil will take place at the Abbeydale Community Centre Sunday at 7 p.m.
