Evening News live from the Canadian Open

ÎLE BIZARD – Global Montreal’s summer road trip continues, and this week’s stop is the city’s West End borough of Île Bizard.

Senior Anchor Jamie Orchard will be hosting a special edition of the Evening News live from location at the The Royal Montreal Golf Club on Friday July 25.

The Club is hosting the 110th anniversary of the Canadian Open.

Several dozen committee chairpeople helped organize this prestigious event, and 1300 volunteers have been busy keeping things on track all week long.

“You have to assemble a strong team to direct the event and a dedicated group of exceptional volunteers that the success of this event depends upon 100 per cent,” said the Club’s tournament chairman Tom Quinn.

It held the first edition of the tournament in 1904 on the Club’s former Dorval location.

Most recently, it hosted the tournament in 2001.

Île Bizard borough Mayor Normand Marinacci will be on-hand to talk about what makes his community unique, taxes, and the buzz around a renewed demerger battle.
