Alberta man drowns off the coast of Oregon

CALGARY – A 53-year-old Drumheller man drowned while swimming off the coast of Oregon on Tuesday.

Jerry Brett was with his wife and children near the city of Seaside, when he decided to go swimming in the ocean.

He was chest deep in the water when he ran into problems and started calling for help.

Brett was pulled to the shore by his family, but was unconscious and later died in hospital.
