WATCH: Kitten survives Typhoon Matmo in Taiwan

TORONTO – A kitten who survived a powerful storm as it as it made landfall on Taiwan’s eastern coast is recovering.

The video shows the small animal on a road as Typhoon Matmo  brought high winds and heavy rains across the island, causing many schools and businesses to close, according to Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau.

“This little guy was spotted at the edge of a dangerous road in the aftermath of Typhoon Matmo as it swept over northern Taiwan,” said  Sean McCormack, who uploaded the video onto his YouTube and Facebook accounts. “When rescued, he was cold, wet, and almost lifeless.”

In an updated video, McCormack showed the kitten—nicknamed Matmo—after it received some warmth, a dry towel, and a little love.
