CALGARY – The owner of a dog that killed a poodle in the city’s northeast over the weekend has come forward.
Officials say the poodle was attacked and bit during an incident on Templehill Drive N.E. on Saturday morning.
A neighbour rushed to help, but the poodle died of its injuries a short time later.

Animal & Bylaw Services says the owner of the dog contacted them after seeing coverage on the news.
Officials plans to meet with the dog’s owner on Wednesday, and say charges are pending.
“Public safety is ABS’ top priority. We want to remind all dog owners that they are responsible for their pets’ behaviour and helping to ensure that all interactions between pets and people are safe for everyone,” said Murray. “And if they don’t, there are consequences.”
