Island Ferries already has the boats, but needed a terminal. The company will take possession of the land this October and hopes to have service running by the end of next March.

When it starts operating two catamaran ships will be able to travel from Nanaimo to downtown Vancouver in 68 minutes.

It will likely cost about $31 one way.
