Sobeys to replace Club Sobeys card with Air Miles

CALGARY- Following its purchase of Safeway stores, the Sobeys grocery chain is also overhauling its rewards program in select markets.

Starting in the fall, Sobeys will phase out the Club Sobeys card and replace it with Air Miles. Currently, many Safeway stores use the popular Air Miles program.

“Over the years, we have seen how much value and excitement the Air Miles reward program brings to our customers, and we are happy to continue and expand on that momentum to offer more shoppers in Western Canada an even more rewarding experience in our stores,” said Marc Poulin, president of Sobeys Inc., in a statement.

The Air Miles program is already in place at Sobeys stores in Atlantic Canada. It will soon be introduced in locations in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
