VANCOUVER – Four people have suffered minor injuries after a screaming man deployed pepper spray inside St. Paul’s Hospital on Monday afternoon.
Dave Lefebvre with Providence Health Care says the man walked into the main entrance at about 4 p.m., screaming about something, and set off the spray.
Two of the injured people are security guards at the hospital.
The suspect quickly fled but was arrested around 10:30 p.m. Monday night. Vancouver Police have recommended charges against the 24-year-old man.
Lefebvre says luckily the fire doors kept the pepper spray to a limited area and the hospital was back up and running shortly after.
