TORONTO – A man has been charged with threatening the life of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford.

He is the second person charged with making death threats against the controversial mayor.

Reports say Robert Melville Dunlop was arrested Monday and charged with threatening bodily harm and threatening death.

He was charged after a man allegedly posted a threat on Ford’s Facebook account on July 27, and of sending a message to Ford’s Twitter account on Aug. 1, threatening his death.

The mayor told reporters last month that an alleged death threat was made against him over the city’s 311 help line.

A 56-year-old man is charged with one count of threatening death after the phone call was received July 14.
