VANCOUVER – As temperatures continue to climb, more people will be taking part in water activities but there’s yet another reminder to be safe on the water.
A 14-year-old North Okanagan boy is in critical condition in hospital after a boating accident on Okanagan Lake.
He was innertubing when the boat pulling him accidentally struck him late Saturday afternoon.
According to police, the boat circled back but ended up running him over.
RCMP say he was struck by the propeller and suffered life threatening injuries to his head, arms and legs.
Police say the investigation is ongoing but they’ve ruled out alcohol as a factor.
