TORONTO – Five people were taken to hospital Sunday afternoon after a stolen car collided with an RCMP cruiser near the Supreme Court in Ottawa.
Police say the accident happened around 3:25 p.m. when RCMP officers tried to stop the stolen vehicle.

The vehicle did not pull over and sped away at a high rate of speed, going through an intersection where it lost control and hit the cruiser.
According to police, there were six people in the stolen car at the time of the collision.
Four of the people injured have minor injuries and one has a serious head injury.
An RCMP officer was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
