Gang associate could be deported due to criminal past

VANCOUVER – A gang associate hurt in a shooting at a Burnaby restaurant earlier this year has now been ordered to leave Canada because of his criminal history.

Thirty-seven-year-old Nick Kljajic has ties to the Wolf Pack Gang Alliance.

He acknowledged that, and previous convictions for drug smuggling, in front of the Immigration and Refugee Board. Currently Kljajic has refugee status and the federal government will decide whether to enforce the deportation order.

He was shot while dining at the Cactus Club restaurant on Kingsway in January.

No charges have yet been laid in the shooting.
