Edmonton Eskimos sign free agent import defensive lineman Marcus Howard

EDMONTON – The Edmonton Eskimos have signed free agent import defensive lineman Marcus Howard, the club announced Monday.

After being draft in the fifth round by Indianapolis in 2008, Howard played nine games in his rookie season with the Colts. He recorded 14 tackles, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble before the team released him just prior to the 2009 regular season.

He signed on with the Tennessee Titans’ practice roster in 2010.

Howard was named the Sugar Bowl MVP in his senior at the University of Georgia.
