TORONTO – It began with a phone call to space more than 40 years ago. Then there was the first email. And the first tweet. Now, NASA astronaut Reid Wiseman has become the first astronaut to send a Vine from space.

“1st Vine from space!” Wiseman’s Vine said. “Singe Earth orbit. Sun never sets flying parallel w/terminator line.”

The Vine shows a single Earth orbit. As the International Space Station orbits Earth, the sun lowers but never sets. The space station orbits the Earth once every 91 minutes.

Like Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, since his arrival, Wiseman has been actively tweeting photographs of life in space and stunning views of Earth from space.

Wiseman has been aboard the space station since May 29. He is scheduled to return to Earth in November.
