WATCH: WestJet reunites Saskatchewan father with his sick child in Edmonton

WATCH: To celebrate Father’s Day, WestJet released a new ad in which a hardworking dad is reunited with his sick child and family with help from the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

EDMONTON – WestJet is out with another soon-to-be viral video, and this one is sure to tug at your heartstrings.

The Calgary-based airline gave Saskatoon dad Marc Grimard an early Father’s Day present by reuniting him with his wife and son, who is being treated at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton.

Aside from surprising the dad and his other son with free flights to Edmonton, WestJet went one step further and had one of its employees train as a transit worker to fill in for Grimard while he’s away.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“As a dad, I want to help a father out,” said WestJet customer service agent, Medel Villena, in the video.

WestJet’s last big viral video, “Christmas Miracle: real-time giving,” received more than 38 million views.
