Cosmetics maker Unipex buys Luca Meyer for an undisclosed amount

QUEBEC CITY, Que. – Cosmetics maker Unipex Group says it has acquired Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, a supplier of natural cosmetic ingredients, delivery systems, and active ingredients, for an undisclosed amount.

The Quebec City-based company says the deal will expand its product line and aligns with its corporate vision.

Lucas Meyer Cosmetics is headquartered in the Paris area and employs 20 people.

Unipex says it will combine the expertise and scientific knowledge from Unipex, which specializes in peptides and biotech actives, and from Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, is focused on functional ingredients and phospholipids.

It says the combination will create immediate synergies and will double Unipex’s product sales.

Unipex is a privately held company that specializes in the development, production, marketing, and distribution of active ingredients and specialty chemicals the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, and nutrition industries in more than 50 countries.

The company has more than 165 employees in six offices across North America and Europe.
