Equipped campsite program in Banff perfect for outdoor novices

CALGARY- Love the idea of camping, but don’t want to shell out for all the equipment? That’s where Parks Canada comes in.

On Tuesday, officials unveiled their Equipped Campsite program, which provides visitors with everything they need for their outdoor experience. For $55 per night, campers are set up with a tent, sleeping pad, cook stove and lantern.

Parks Canada has also partnered with retailers, to set up rentals for other must-have  items such as sleeping bags and cookware.

The program is taking place in Banff National Park, and visitors can book a site by e-mailing Banff.camping@pc.gc.ca
