Accused Kelowna killer makes bail

KAMLOOPS — The Kelowna man convicted of killing of a college student has made bail.

Neil Snelson, 47, was found guilty of manslaughter in 2011 for the 1993 murder of 19-year-old Jennifer Cusworth.

The Okanagan College student was found beaten and strangled after attending a Kelowna house party.

Snelson was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

He appealed the verdict and has been granted a re-trial which is scheduled to be held in Kamloops.

Up until now, Snelson had not applied for bail.

Snelson will be staying with his sister who resides in Lake Country.

He’s been released on a $75,000 surety.
