One person dead after motorcycle collides with truck on Highway 401

TORONTO – A man in his 40s has been pronounced dead at the scene and a male teen has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Highway 401.

Peel EMS say it happened in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Carlingview Drive at approximately 1:30 p.m Saturday.

The circumstances surrounding the collision are not immediately clear, and a reconstruction team is on scene say police.

All eastbound lanes on Highway 401 were initially closed at Highway 427, though two right lanes have since reopened.
