Viagra has been going strong for ten years – so strong that the market of this ‘blockbuster’ drug has been valued at 4-5 billion USD. In the new documentary film Pharma Sutra, filmmakers Marion Gruner and Robin Benger take a look at three sex drugs that are being developed to treat female sexual dysfunction (FSD) and several women that participated in the drug trials. “According to the numbers, even more women suffer from FSD than erectile dysfunction,” says Gruner, “do the math. FSD is a larger market than Viagra.”
