Black bears spotted in Port Coquitlam

Two young black bears were spotted in a residential Port Coquitlam neighbourhood Thursday.

Jeff Cabralda contacted Global News to say he spotted two young black bears playing with each other and crossing the street in the 1200-block of Wellington St. just after 5 p.m.

He says the bears were also in people’s yards. Several cars stopped to let the bears cross the street.

Cabralda called conservation officials and says the bears didn’t appear to be too interested in any vehicles and crossed the street safely.
