RCMP recover body of second missing canoeist in northern Manitoba

WINNIPEG – RCMP say they believe they have found the body of a second missing canoeist in northern Manitoba.

Police say the body was found in the Rat River downstream of the Notigi Dam.

No name was released, but police say they believe it is the body of a 43-year-old man from Thompson.

On Sunday a conservation officer found the body of a 42-year-old man in the river north of Nelson House First Nation.

Two brothers from Thompson went missing July 10 after their canoe capsized during a fishing trip.
