TORONTO — After telling the country to “Shut Up and Dance” in 2012, Victoria Duffield is back with a new album — and Global News is giving you a preview.
Listen below to Accelerate, which will be released June 3.
The sophomore album from the 19-year-old B.C. singer comes after Duffield collaborated with producers and writers in Canada as well as Los Angeles and London.
Duffield says Accelerate is more reflective of her own life.
“I was able to deal with experiences that I actually went through. To me, Accelerate is about moving forward,” she says, “and getting all my thoughts out of my head and into the studio helped me do that.”
Shut Up and Dance earned a Juno nomination for pop album of the year and the title track was up for a MuchMusic Video Award. The single earned platinum status in Canada.
The first single from Accelerate is “More Than Friends.”
