KENTVILLE, N.S. – A military reservist has been charged with possessing child pornography at a Canadian Forces camp in Nova Scotia.
The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service charged 26-year-old Cpl. Lawrence Arthur Jordan with one count under the Criminal Code of possessing child pornography.
Capt. Joanna Labonte says the alleged offence occurred last June at Camp Aldershot near Wolfville, N.S., and would only say that it involved an electronic device.
Labonte says Jordan was charged Tuesday in provincial court in nearby Kentville.
She says Jordan is a part-time member of the Forces with the Cape Breton Highlanders in Sydney, N.S., who joined in 2008.
The investigation service is part of the independent Canadian Forces Military Police Group, which looks into sensitive military matters.
