Soak up the sun at Edmonton outdoor pools this weekend

EDMONTON – Two of the city’s outdoor pools will open Friday, inviting Edmontonians to say goodbye to the long winter by splashing into summer.

The Mill Creek and Fred Broadstock pools will be the first local outdoor pools to open at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 23.

Mill Creek will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Fred Broadstock pool will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

The Queen Elizabeth outdoor pool is scheduled to open June 4, and Oliver outdoor pool should open June 14.

Borden Park outdoor pool is closed until 2016 for redevelopment.

Single admission for an adult is $6.65. The cost for a youth or senior is $5.80, and $4.50 for a child.

People can also use their City of Edmonton recreational facility memberships at outdoor pools. Monthly passes are also available.
