Elephant trio leaves Calgary Zoo for good

CALGARY- It was a sad day at the Calgary Zoo, as staff said goodbye to their three remaining elephants.

Kamala, Swarna and Maharani are being moved to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo in Washington, D.C., and the trio was successfully sent off on Tuesday.

Heavy equipment was brought in to load them into special containers for the long trip, before being loaded onto semi-trailers.
