TORONTO – Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak and NDP Leader Andrea Horwath will be campaigning for the June 12 election today, while Liberal Premier Kathleen Wynne takes a day off.
Hudak will stump for votes in Whitby and at a pair of events in Toronto, while Horwath has events planned in Toronto, Kingston and Peterborough.

The consortium of broadcasters behind the leaders’ debate says Wynne, Hudak and Horwath will duke it out verbally in Toronto on June 3.
The 90-minute debate will be aired beginning at 6:30 p.m. by several broadcasters including Global News.
On the campaign trail Friday, Wynne promised to expand the power of nurses to allow them to write prescriptions, and to allow nurse practitioners to order tests such as C-T scans.
Hudak, meanwhile, promised a Tory government would run balanced budgets once they eliminate the red ink in 2016, but he also said deficits are OK if there’s an economic crisis.
Horwath attacked both of her opponents on the subject of electricity rates.
Horwath said wrong-headed policies that began under the Conservatives and continued under the Liberals are to blame for the mess in Ontario’s electricity system.
Horwath is pledging a New Democrat government would merge four of the five agencies that run the power system in Ontario and cap the salaries of the CEOs in charge.
