KELOWNA, B.C. — UPDATED 2:30 P.M. A man who was sent to Kelowna General Hospital after being pinned by a pickup truck is reportedly being assessed for a head injury.
The man was caught under a Chevy truck labeled ‘RSport Rally’ doing repairs in a camping area at the base of Knox Mountain when a a lift apparently failed.
Bryan Fulton, organizer of the Knox Mountain Hill Climb where the accident took place in a camp area adjacent to the race site Friday, says the drive shaft of the truck was not in park when it was placed on the lift, causing the vehicle to roll off, coming to a rest on the victim’s shoulder and side of head.
A blood soaked rag was left at the scene.
RCMP are investigating.
Fulton says the victim is undergoing a CT scan and is said to have sustained a minor injury to his shoulder.
