Calgary Parking Authority offers new perk at parkades

Screens similar to this one have been installed at six of seven City of Calgary parkades. Calgary Parking Authority

Drivers exiting city-owned parkades are now getting real-time travel information thanks to newly installed screens.

The screens, at six of the seven parkades run by the Calgary Parking Authority (CPA), give drivers estimated commute times to a number of key intersections on Deerfoot Trail, Crowchild Trail and Macleod Trail.

“Before our customers even leave our facilities, they will have up-to-the-minute information that will help them plan their commute home or wherever their next destination might be,” says Troy McLeod, CPA General Manager.

The screens are refreshed every 30 seconds and use green, yellow or red text to denote three levels of traffic congestion.

You’ll find the screens at the following parkades:

  •  McDougall
  • Centennial
  • City Centre
  • James Short
  • Convention Centre
  • City Hall
