MARKHAM, Ont. – Rural Internet service provider Xplornet Communications Inc. has acquired RipNet Ltd., an Internet service provider operating in eastern Ontario.
The acquisition, for an undisclosed price, is effective immediately, although RipNet will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of privately held Xplornet, the company said in a release Tuesday.

Located in the Brockville region, RipNet’s service extends from Manotick to Gananoque and as far north as Perth, Ont..
