VONDA, Sask. – One man is dead and another is in a Saskatoon hospital after a head-on crash on Highway 27 just east of Vonda, Sask. on Tuesday morning.

RCMP say the driver of a westbound Ford F-150 attempted to pass a grain trailer just before 8:30 a.m. when he collided with an eastbound Dodge truck.

The driver of the Dodge was declared dead at the scene.

His name has not been released.

The driver of the Ford was taken to a Saskatoon hospital with unknown injuries.

Highway 27 is currently closed in both directions while Mounties carry out their investigation.
