The four were canoeing on Slocan Lake on Saturday when their boat capsized just 150 meters from shore.

Witnesses saw two people clinging to the canoe but when searchers arrived, they found 19-year-old Lily Harmer-Taylor unconscious inside.

She later died in hospital.

None of the four were wearing lifejackets.

Police divers joined the search for the men yesterday, but the lake is deeper than divers can go and the cold temperature of the water is preventing divers from going on long swims.
