REGINA – Several homes and farms have been destroyed in the Kronau and Sedley areas after a massive grass fire flared up just after 11 a.m.
By 1:30p.m. emergency officials had evacuated the town because the flames were threatening to engulf it. They have since been allowed to return.
No one was injured, but the damage is extensive.
Fire departments from several nearby towns all helped out with the efforts.
By about 3:30 p.m. they had the fires under control, but they’re still on scene battling hot spots that continue to flare up.

Officials haven’t determined the cause of the fire, but they suspect a spark from a passing train may have been the culprit.
A photo shared by Marty Seymour, CEO of Canadian Western Agribition, appeared to show a farm outbuilding in flames.
